Official denies power supply affected by unconfirmed sabotage in Sinai

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Electric supply in Jordan didn't suffer any downtimes following unconfirmed reports that transmission towers, providing Jordan with part of its electricity needs, were blown up in Sinai, Egypt, Director of the National Electricity Company, Abdul-fattah Daradkah said Sunday. Daradkah said the Jordan-Egypt electric line, which also links other Arab countries and sometimes referred to as the Eight-Country Interconnection Project, is operating normally and no information has been received from Egyptian authorities about any sabotage of electric facilities in Sinai. Earlier, there were unconfirmed reports that terrorists blew up two power towers in Oyoon Mousa region, south of Sinai.
