Did Ivanka Trump need permission to use a car on Inauguration Day?

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Ivanka Trump had to ask for special permission to ride in a car during her father’s inauguration as her Orthodox Jewish beliefs.

Trump’s daughter Ivanka converted to Judaism before marrying her husband Jared Kushner in 2009.

Orthodox Judaism prohibits the use of a motor vehicle on Friday evenings and on the Saturday celebration day.

Those days are known as “Shabbat” or days of rest starting from Friday till Saturday for 25 hours when Jews are typically prohibited from certain activities including the use of electric devices and driving.

Since Trump was inaugurated on a Friday, Ivanka had to ask a rabbi for special permission to be exempted on the day to use the bullet-proof presidential limousine as she moved around Washington D.C. to attend several events.
