Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani Mulki said that the percentage of vehicles with 2000 CC engines stands at 85 percent and that their owners have to pay JD50 or JD100 as ownership transfer fees once, when selling their vehicles.

At a meeting on Sunday with representatives of the trade and services sector in the presence of a number of ministers and other officials, Mulki said the percentage of vehicles with less than 1000cc engines is 1 percent while it is 46 percent for vehicles between 1000-1500cc, and 38 percent for vehicles with engines between 1500-2000cc.

He added that higher ownership fees will be paid by owners of vehicles with more that 2000cc.

The prime minister said that the ownership fees were amended as part of measures that were taken by the government within the financial and structural reform program to avoid increasing prices of 91 commodities.

He highlighted the importance of true partnership that is based on understanding between the government and the trade and services sector that plays an important role along with the industrial and agricultural sector, to spur the economy and achieve growth.

Mulki also stressed the need to address problems facing all economic sectors to increase their growth and enhance their role in serving the national economy.

Representatives of the trade and services sector spoke about their demands and proposals as well as challenges facing them to enhance the business environment.
