IEC chief meets heads of committees

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Independent Elections Commission (IEC) president Khaled Kalaldeh Saturday met the heads of committees of the Kingdom's constituencies and stressed training of staff as "the pivot" of the electoral process.

During the meeting, part of preparations for the September 20 parliamentary elections, Kalaldeh commended the efforts of the committees and sub-committees in the field, urging partnership and cooperation with various authorities to conduct free and fair polls.

Emphasis was laid on activating channels of communication between the IEC and cadres working in the field to ensure the readiness of polling and vote-counting centres and closely coordinate with the Ministries of public works and housing and education.

The IEC chief urged the committees to monitor campaign propaganda that are in violation of regulations and coordinate with executive authorities to remove them.
