Tarawneh: Providing education for refugees is moral and humanitarian duty

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Government coordinator for human right Basel Tarawneh said that Jordan's efforts to provide educational services to refugees is continuing under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II as they are a moral and humanitarian duty.

In a statement to Petra on Saturday, he said that the government had instructed the Ministry of Education since the beginning of the influx of Syrian refugees into Jordan in 2011, to enroll Syrian students in Jordanian public schools.

Tarawneh said that the Ministry of Education took a number of measures to accept Syrian students through the national response plan in cooperation with a number of local and international organizations.

He also pointed to schools that have been established at the Syrian refugees' camps to provide educational services to Syrian refugees.
