Gag order issued on columnist case

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Amman Public Prosecutor, Judge Abdullah Abul-Ghanam, Sunday requested a gag order on the case of Jordanian writer Nahed Hattar.

The columnist is facing charges of 'inciting sedition' for sharing a caricature on his Facebook page which was deemed as offensive to religion.

The Judge told Petra that the Public Prosecution "will pursue those who violate the ban on publication of news or information in the case, either in electronic sites or social media or any other publication means in order to continue the investigation and protect its secretary".
