Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Maha Ali, said Jordanian exports to the African markets currently account for 2.2 percent of the Kingdom's total exports.

During a meeting organized by the Jordan Small and Medium Enterprises Industrial Association (JSMEI) to highlight services provided by the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), Ali attributed the modest level of exports to the ambiguity of the African market for Jordanian companies as well as marketing and financing challenges.

She said that holding such meetings constitute an opportunity to brief the private sector on BADEA financing and other services, in order to contribute to the efforts of all parties in the public and private sectors, and opportunities for partnerships.

Ali noted that the ministry and various government institutions are ready to promote relations with African countries to open new export markets for national industries as a substitute for traditional markets.
