Hungary, Jordan sign partnership agreements

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The two parties conducted talks on trade, construction, farming, environmental protection and tourism, he said, adding that Hungary offered 400 scholarships to Jordanian students to study in Hungary.

Szabó also noted that there is ongoing cooperation in the energy industry and expressed hope for partnerships in water management projects.

He said the Jordanian government wants to build two nuclear power plants using Rosatomʼs technology in the near future and is “highly interested in Hungaryʼs experience of more than 40 years” gained by operating the Paks nuclear power plant.

“The amount of bilateral trade, currently at USD 40 million a year, is far from the level we would like to achieve,” Szabó said. He noted that Hungarian dairy company Kőrőstej recently won an order to supply the Jordanian armed forces with cheese.

During his visit to Jordan, the state secretary met with minister of trade, industry and supply Maha Ali, minister for planning and international cooperation Imad Najib Fakhoury and is also expected to hold talks with farm minister Akef Al-Zoubi.
