Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Liberia Football Association has endorsed the candidacy of Prince Ali Hussein of Jordan for the post of FIFA President in the world football body’s upcoming elections.

According to a press release signed by the LFA media consultant, Horatio Bobby Willie, LFA President Musa Bility decided to endorse Hussein following intense consultations with his Executive Committee and key stakeholders in Liberian football.

Further, the LFA boss stated his belief that Hussein represents the real change that football seeks and such was demonstrated when he stood against Blatter when it was unthinkable to do so.

In October 2015, it was confirmed that Bility had submitted his bid for the FIFA presidency following a meeting between Edwin Snowe and FIFA’s acting secretary general, Marcus Kattner. His bid was confirmed after he received the mandatory backing of five member associations.

However, his candidacy was later rejected by FIFA for integrity reasons. In an interview with the BBC, Bility said that FIFA informed him that his candidacy was “principally rejected” because of activities related to a Confederation of African Football ban.

Bility had been banned for six months from all football activities in 2013 for using confidential documents from Africa’s football governing body in a legal challenge against Issa Hayatou.
