PM launches 16-million-euro sulfur factory

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, on Monday, launched a 16-million-euro sulfur factory designed to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions from the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company in the eastern Zarqa governorate.

Ensour said the plant is established for mere environmental purposes and will not generate any financial return, adding that the facility will spare citizens and local community decades-long suffering of environmental issues.

Chief executive of the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company, Abdul Karim al-Alaween, said the new factory is part of a series of measures and projects the company is pursuing with a development and modernization drive.
