He also praised Jordan's role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in hosting a large number of Syrian refugees. The two officials also discussed scopes of bilateral cooperation, especially in various development-related areas, noting the important outcome of His Majesty King Abdullah II's recent visit to the UK. Fakhoury spoke about the Syrian refugees crisis and the massive burden placed on the Jordanian economy and infrastructure as a result of hosting a massive influx of Syrian refugees on its territory, calling on the world community to bear its responsibility in helping Jordan continue its humanitarian mission .
