Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Israeli Minister of the Interior Selfan Shalom today formally approved a plan to ratify the employment of approximately 1,500 Jordanian workers in Eilat hotels near the Red Sea in Israel.

The Israeli government had previously approved this plan in June last year, which will recruit Jordanian workers on a 3-stage plan eventually reaching 1,500 workers.

The Jordanian workers will obtain mulitiple entry work permits in Israel allowing them to return to their country on a daily basis.

This decision comes during a staff shortage at peak season after thousands of foreign workers – the majority of which are African migrants – were dismissed from Eilat hotels.
