Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A total of 24 travel documents were issued recently by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to Syrian refugees in Jordan who were granted resettlement rights in a third country.

The committee said in a press statement on Tuesday that it had enabled 18,100 Syrian refugees in the Zaatari and Azraq refugee camps to communicate over the past four months with their families, whether inside or outside Syria, through free phone calls.

The ICRC also provided financial support to the National Committee for Demining and Rehabilitation to increase awareness among Syrian refugees on the dangers of unexploded ordnance.

The committee also organized a three-day training course to enhance commitment to international humanitarian law during times of war in Syria.

Other activities held by the committee included 11 training courses on first aid for 258 Syrians in host communities, in addition to four other training courses for 114 Jordanians.
