Workshop about TawasolInspection Feedback System for Business Sector

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordan Small and Medium Enterprises Industrial Association (Jordan SMEs) has organized a workshop entitled, Tawasol Inspection Feedback System for Business Sector, in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supplies (MOIT). Held under the National Inspection Reform Program,the workshop aimed to raise awareness on Tawasol service/application and its benefits.

The awareness workshop was geared towards educating the attendees aboutTawasol application, in addition to introducing them to its key benefits and its impact on various business sectors. The event includedthe participation of directorsof inspection departments from the Ministry of Labour (MoL), Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) and Civil Defence Directorate (CDD). Morethan 100 representatives fromsmall and medium enterprises (SME)- the workshop’s main target audience - also participated in the event, where they were introduced to Tawasol-connected entities, their operations and impact.

During the event, MOIT- which is the sponsor ofTawasolInspectionFeedback System for Business Sectorworkshop - delivered a presentation on the project. Moreover, the IFC provided further insights on Tawasol, its mechanism, advantages to the private sector, and how to ensure maximum user benefit. The workshop also featured a discussion session between participating inspection directorson inspection procedures and the importance of utilizing the application in order to improve inspectors’ performance during their visits.

In his welcoming note, Chairman of Jordan SMEs, NidalSamaeen, elaborated that this step is closely aligned with the Association’s efforts to enhance cooperation between all local and international partners, as well as to improve services offered to SMEs. “TawasolInspectionFeedback System for Business Sector allows us to remain abreast of observations made by business owners and SMEs regarding inspections conducted by MoL, GAM, CDD and other regulatory entities, thus helpingtoimprove the inspection process as a whole.”

Tawasol is part of the National Inspection Reform Program, which is executed by MOITin cooperation with the IFC - a member of the World Bank Group- and is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Tawasol is a user-friendly and time-efficient electronic system and application that facilitates the provision of feedback on inspection processes from anywhere and at anytime. Business owners are required to fill a short survey- obtained through Tawasol application or by visiting www.tawasol.gov.jo - about their inspection visit. Once the forms are received bythe participating regulatory entities, measures are taken to analyze the observations and comments, after which a report is developed in order to improve the inspection visits.
