The Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the UN told a UN Security Council session on the international cooperation to fight terrorism that within the initiative, Jordan will be hosting a regional meeting to highlight this issue. The initiative, she said, aims to develop mechanisms to confront the use of media to mislead people by increasing awareness of the public on the dangers of terrorism. The Jordanian envoy called on the UN to support this initiative.

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS -Jordan is planning to launch a regional initiative to shed light on the growing use of technology and social networking websites by terrorists and their supporters, Jordan's envoy to the UN Dina Kawar said Wednesday.

The Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the UN told a UN Security Council session on the international cooperation to fight terrorism that within the initiative, Jordan will be hosting a regional meeting to highlight this issue.

The initiative, she said, aims to develop mechanisms to confront the use of media to mislead people by increasing awareness of the public on the dangers of terrorism.

The Jordanian envoy called on the UN to support this initiative.
