Jordanian detained in Saudi Arabia to be released on Sunday

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS The Saudi authorities have informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the detained Jordanian citizen, Khalid Al Natour, is likely to return to Jordan next Sunday, Jordan News Agency Petra reported.

The spokesperson for the ministry, Sabah Al Rafei, said the Jordanian authorities are following up on Natour’s release and return to Jordan with the Saudi authorities.

Natour was arrested by Saudi authorities upon arriving at Riyadh airport on a work trip. He has been detained incommunicado for over 3 months, on charges of allegedly insulting the Saudi King Abdullah.

Natour is a Jordanian pro-reform activist who took part in various protests since the launch of protests in Jordan, and participated in protests against Saudi intervention in Bahrain's crackdown on pro-reform protests there.
