Dead Sea Ultra Marathon set for April 5

Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra) - The 20th annual run of the Dead Sea Ultra Marathon (DSUM) is set to be held on April 5 with the participation of more than 10,000 runners representing 52 countries.

The event, held under the patronage of HRH Prince Ra'ad bin Zeid, is organized by the Society for Care of Neurological Patients (SCNP) in cooperation with Greater Amman Municipality.

SCNP president HRH Prince Firas bin Ra'ad said in statement that the marathon's consecutive successes over the years have been achieved with the support of the sponsoring institutions and volunteers, making it one of the most prominent local and international sport events.

DSUM is the main fund-raising event for the SCNP; aims to increase knowledge about the benefits of running, gathering people from all around the globe. it also raises awareness towards the society's existence, and provides neurological patients in need with medical aid and covers the costs of necessary surgeries.
