FM discusses Mideast, Syria with Brazilian envoy

Ammon News - AMMAN (Petra)--Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh discussed with Brazilian Special envoy to the Middle East, Cesario Melantonio Jordanian-Brazilian ties, the latest developments in the Middle East, mainly the peace process as well as the Syrian crisis.
The two officials stressed their keenness to continue coordination and consultations on issues of concern to both countries.
The meeting comes as a follow up of His Majesty King Abdullah's meeting with the Brazilian president on the sidelines of ASPA meeting in Peru as well as meeting of the two countries' foreign ministers last year.
The two officials reviewed efforts to push the peace process forward, stressing the need to resume Palestinian-Israeli negotiations that should lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
On Syria, Judeh and Melantonio highlighted the need to arrive at a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis that puts an end to bloodshed.
Judeh reviewed repercussions of the Syrian crisis on Jordan which is hosting thousands of Syrian refugees and providing them with services.
"Jordan, under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, will continue hosting the displaced Syrians and provide them with health and educational services," Judeh said.
The Brazilian official valued Jordan's efforts under the King's leadership to achieve security and stability in the Middle East.
