Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A funeral was held on Friday in the northern governorate of Irbid for the man killed on Wednesday during riots in Wasatiyah district in Irbid.

23-year old Qais al-Omari was buried Friday afternoon, a day after his family refused to receive his body contending the police's narrative on the cause of his death.

The Public Security Department (PSD) had said that Al-Omari was among an "armed group" who attacked a police precinct in the town of Kufr Assad in Wasatiyah district Wednesday night.

Al-Omari's family rejected the police narrative, and stressed that their son was not armed.

Al-Omari is the sole fatality in the unrest and violent protests that erupted in the kingdom following the government's decision earlier this week to float fuel prices, which led to a major hike in prices.
