113 Food Poisoned in Sri Lanka Embassy

AMMONNEWS - Dozens of Sri Lankan nationals on Saturday were rushed to various hospitals in Amman after suffering from food poisoning at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Amman, a security source told Ammon News.

The majority of patients are domestic workers who were at the Sri Lankan embassy at the time symptoms of food poisoning showed.

113 Sri Lankans were rushed to Prince Hamza, Al Bashir, and University of Jordan hospitals for treatment after suffering symptoms of food poisoning, Civil Defense Directorate Spokesperson Fareed Shara told Ammon News.

Sharaa said that sources at the Sri Lankan Embassy reported the food poisoning cases resulted from consuming a dinner meal at the Embassy Friday night.

CDD said that all the patients are in stable condition.
