Foreign Ministry conveys message to Syrian charge d'affaires on government's rejection of shells landing on Jordanian territory

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - State Minister for Media Affairs and Communications and Government Spokesperson Samih Maaytah said the Foreign Ministry conveyed a clear message to the Syrian charge d'affaires in Amman expressing the government's rejection of landing of shells on Jordanian territory from the Syrian side of the borders.

The government stressed in its message responsibility of the Syrian army to control borders with Jordan regardless the source of the shells, describing the incident as 'unacceptable'.

The charge d'affaires said he would convey the message to the Syrian government.

Earlier, four shells landed on Jordanian territory, injuring a Jordanian girl who suffered shrapnel wounds.

Four other children were sent to hospital suffering from panic.
