CBJ governor: Shoman's resignation will not affect the position of the bank

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Governor of Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) Dr. Ziad Fariz has confirmed that the chairman of the board of Arab Bank Abdel Hamid Shoman, has submitted his resignation this morning on the back of disagreement with some board members.

Dr. Fariz added that this step will not affect the position of the bank as the bank is one of the leading Arab and national institutions, which the Central Bank of Jordan supervises continuously as part of it’s regulatory role.

In this regard, the Central Bank of Jordan confirms the financial strength and soundness of Arab Bank both locally, regionally and internationally.

According to the law, the deputy chairman of the board of directors, Sabih Al-Masri, will assume his responsibility as an acting chairman of the board that comprises representatives of leading local, Arab and regional institutions.
