The US is a strong supporter and protector of Jordan and the existing regime system, at least for now. Jordanians should be grateful for the significant US financial and military support. Unlike the "old" GCC aid which only Allah and the pockets of the few "receivers" knew where it went, the US financial help must go to the benefits of the people and it knows where every dollar goes! The US also has a flexible democratic system. When US allies Ben Ali and Mubarak were toppled and Islamists reached power, many believed that the interests of the US will suffer in Egypt and Tunisia. What is happening now was unimaginable just one year ago: the two countries are developing a new relations with the US built on a much more solid foundations than during the rule of the previous absolute corrupt dictatorships in Cairo and Tunisia! Relations among democracies are based on mutual interests and permanent; Relations with "loyal" despotic corrupt dictators are brutal and short.
