Anti corruption commission to investigate suspicions at GUCS

AMMONNEWS—The department of anti-corruption commission has recalled 10 of the staff of the General Union of Charitable Societies and members of the governing body, to investigate suspicions of corruption within the Union ,a source told Ammonnews.

The source, who preferred anonymity ,said that among the suspicions ,is buying a car worth 25,500 dinars,where as the real value does not exceed 14,000 dinars, besides appointing the relatives and friends .

Suspicions of corruption include also - according to the source - charging commissions Union amounts of material more than 400 dinars per month for each member, a violation of the regulations, as no member shall receive wages in return for their work ,without the approval of the General Assembly and the terms of the Union.

The source also confirmed that the department is investigating the issue of hiding lottery awards and charitable interests, as well as receiving bribes. The source added that investigation is going on ,regarding the support the union is providing to certain associations with large amounts ,with no clear basis, in addition to charges of granting bonus to government delegates ministries representatives.
