Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Former General Intelligence Department (GID) chief Mohammad Dahabi will stand trial on Thursday after he has been indicted for embezzlement, money laundry and exploitation of public office, a source from the Ministry of Justice said.
He is expected to appear before Amman Criminal Court, said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The trial comes after more than four months that the former GID director spent in custody since his arrest in February.
His numerous bail pleas have been turned down by judicial authorities.
Dahabi, 53, served as GID chief between 2005 and 2008, when he was referred to retirement.
Before his arrest, the prosecution issued a travel ban and his assets were frozen after the Anti-Money Laundering Unit filed a motion against him.
