House clears Former PM, Ministers, officials of responsibility in "Phosphate Case"

AMMONNEWS - The Lower House of Parliament on Wednesday cleared former Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit, four ex-ministers, and Basim Awad Allah of responsibility in the privatization of the Jordan Phosphate's Mines Co., which was presented to the Lower House of Parliament on Tuesday.

lawmakers voted in clearing of responsibility of four former ministers including Suhair Al ali ( minister of Tourism), Ziad Fariz (minister of Finance ), Abed al Shakhanbeh ( Minister of Justice), and Sharif Zoubi (Minister of Trade).

73 lawmakers voted in favor of clearing of responsibility , while 24 voted for indictment, 23 MPs abstained.

The house also cleared Basim Awad Allah, Mohammad abu Hamour, and business Tycoon Walid Kurdi. and other 6 officials.
