Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Dozens of orphans - who were graduated from orphanages - on Tuesday staged a sit-in in front of the Royal Court downtown Amman demanding better services.

The protesters demanded from the Ministry of Social Development to live up to their responsibilities in carrying out King Abdullah's orders to draw up a comprehensive national strategy for orphans and children deprived of parental care to help them secure a better future.

They called for better life including homes, jobs, health assurance and to be recruited in Army and Security forces, Ahmad Teibi - graduated orphan - told Ammon News.

He said that the ministry did not follow up their files to get official job, and accused the ministry of humiliating and ignoring their demands, Teibi added.

Dozens of orphans graduate annually from the run-state orphans homes, they became homeless, jobless and suffering of poverty.

One of protested orphans claimed that he was expelled from the orphanage after he ran in to troubles with the head of the home and accused him of drinking alcohol.
