Journalists protest in solidarity with Majali

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Dozens of Journalists and activists staged a sit-in on Thursday in front of the Jordan press Association (JPA) to solidarity with the state minister for Media Affairs and communications Rakan Majali.

They condemned what they described " incitement campaign" against the Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications Rakan Majali after 45 parliament members signed e memorandum to vote no confidence over his statements about holding parliament elections 2012.

The protest came after a parliament memorandum signed by 45 of MPs requesting to vote no confidence in Majali over his statements about early elections.

Majali is a veteran journalist and he was the Editor - in - Chief of the daily newspaper Al Rai and headed JPA for several terms.

Protesters denounced senator Yousef Dalabih's statements against journalists and demanded his to apologize.
