If Expelling Hamas was a Mistake ,The Mistake should be corrected - Rawabdeh

AMONNEWS - In responding to Ammon News question over deporting hamas from Jordan, The former prim Minister AbdelRaouf al - Rawabdeh said that if his government decision to deport the political bureau of the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement (Hamas) from Jordan in 1999 was a political and constitutional mistake the new prime minister should correct it.

“ If there was any violation of the constitution the new prime minister should correct it “ he said.

Earlier the prim minister Awn Khasawneh stated during his meeting with figures and leaders of the professional associations on Monday that Hamas Departure from Jordan was a political and constitutional “ Mistake”.


The leader of Hamas political arm Khalid Meshal had called Jordan's new Prime Minister Awn Khasawneh to congratulate him on the appointment and formation of a new government, and Hamas leader Muhammad Nazzal visited Khasawneh in his home last week.

Jordan's relations with Hamas were tense particularly after Hamas' leadership was expelled from Amman in 1999.
