Arab Summit kicks off tomorrow focusing on major challenges facing the Nation

AMMONNEWS — The 21st regular Arab Summit will kick off Monday with the participation of several Arab leaders, who will look into major challenges the Arab Nation is facing.

Top of the two-day agenda will be discussions on the level of Arab support to Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir, against whom an arrest warrant was issued early March by the International Criminal Court.

Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir arrived in Doha Sunday to attend the Arab summit as well as the Arab-South American summit to be take place starting Monday.

This is the first time Bashir will attend an international conference since the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for him on March 4.

The Arab leaders will also discuss the Arab Peace Initiative and the peace process in the Middle East, in addition to the Arab position in dealing with the new right wing Israeli government.

The Arab League has underlined the great importance of the summit as being held amid regional and international critical circumstances.

The Arab summit will be followed by another summit between Arab and South American countries, where the participating countries will look into means to foster bilateral ties.
