2 people arrested over Friday protest violence, 11 on the run

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Attorney General apprehended two people for reportedly taking part in the violence against participants in the peaceful protest last Friday in front of Al Husseini Mosque in downtown Amman.

Informed sources told Ammon News that the public prosecutor issued arrest warrants against 11 others who remain at-large.

Minister of Justice Hussein Mjali had formed an investigation committee to look into the attacks against protestors on Friday, February 18th.

Mjali stated that the investigation is still on going.

8 people were injured in the violence that took place when a group described as "thugs" stormed into the demonstration with metal batons and wooden sticks and attacked the protestors.
