84 MPs call for minimum wage increase

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Wael Jaraysheh - 84 members of Parliament on Wednesday called on the government to raise the minimum wage.

MPs said in a letter addressed to Prime Minister Samir Rifai that the soaring prices and the difficult standards of living of Jordanians should be seriously considered as soon as possible, considering the social and economic factors that are affecting citizens everyday.

The letter was adopted by chair of the financial parliamentary committee, MP Ayman Majali.

It is noted that the minimum wage currently stands at JD 150.
