Uzbekistan defeats Jordan 2-1 in Asian Cup

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan's national team, Al Nashama, faced Uzbekistan Friday evening in the 2011 AFC Asian Cup quarter Finals being held in Qatar in a match that ended with Uzbekistan defeating Jorda 2-1.

After a scoreless first half in the match held at Khalifa Stadium, Uzbekistan scored two consecutive goals in the Jordanian net within the first five minutes of the second half.

Jordan's Captain Bashar Bani Yassine scored a goal in Uzbekistan's net halfway through the second half of the match.

With Friday's defeat, Jordan's team exits the AFC Asian cup.

Jordan has so far drawn 1-1 with Japan, and beat Saudi Arabia 1-0 and were victorious over Syria 2-1 last week.

Meanwhile, fans of the Jordanian national team were very visible in the stands of Khalifa Stadium in Doha Friday night raising Jordanian flags and wearing the traditional red koffiyeh.
