Ammon News - AMMAN – Jordan's 16th parliamentary elections were conducted according to laws and procedures with a suitable environment for voting which reflected voters' opinions, according to Arab Election Watch Network.
In an initial report issued on Wednesday, a copy of which was obtained by Petra, the Amman-based network said that the turnout was positive especially with regard to youth and women's participation, despite boycott of some opposition parties and their call for non-participation.
The Network asked to improve skills of workers in the electoral administration by more training, and to put a list of candidates' names with their photos on the ballot paper to make it easier to vote, especially for illiterates, and reduce false papers.
The network had deployed 21 international observers at balloting and vote-counting stations at 28 constituencies across the Kingdom.
The report valued the government's efforts and facilitations to a secure climate for voters in spite of the unfortunate accidents in some regions of the Kingdom, which lead to the death of one voter, while four others were wounded. The report also valued allocating well-equipped polling stations for the handicapped and illiterates, and pointed that using technology in the electoral process led to reducing fraud and time of vote for each voter.
