Jordan aims for 65% of students to have education funded by 2014

Ammon News - AMMAN - Jordanian minister of higher education, Walid Maani has announced that nearly 65% of the country's public university students are to have their education funded completely through scholarships and zero-interest loans by the year 2014, Jordan Times has reported.

The move aims to increase the number of public university students who are to receive scholarships or loans from the ministry by 10%. "We will change loan allocations into scholarships starting next year so that 35% of all public university students will receive free education," Maani told the daily.
